African Union Launches a Revolutionalised E-Recruitment Website

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, 21 December 2015: The African Union has today 21, December 2015 launched a new dynamic E-recruitment website. The project which is spear headed by the Human Resources Management Division of the African Union Commission (AUC) brings with it a revitalized system of recruitment.

The new AU e-recruitment system can now be accessed in two of the official languages of the African Union, English and French. It can also connect directly to the African Union SAP system for internal job applicants. The new E- recruitment platform also has provision of sending out thank you notifications to new applicants, something that was not possible in the past.

Speaking during the launching ceremony, H.E. Erastus Mwencha, Deputy Chairperson of the African Union Commission commended the Administration and Human Resources Management Department for the tremendous work that has been done to implement the new dynamic e- recruitment website.

The Deputy Chairperson, in his remarks, noted that, the E- recruitment system has come a long way from handling hard copy Curriculum Vitaes to a more robust, modern system which processes applications electronically.

Mr. Amine Idriss Adoum, Director for Administration and Human Resources Management of the AUC, underlined the entire new level of efficiency and effective delivery that the new E- recruitment website will offer to the public. Mr. Adoum noted that as of 21 of December 2015 all internal staff of the African Union as well as the public shall be able to use the new E- recruitment system in English and French while the ultimate objective is to have all the African Union four working languages configured into the system by next year.
The E- recruitment system will allow the African Union to attract not only African Applicants from the continent and diaspora but also maintain talent warehouse of potential candidates who can join the AU team as and when demand arises.
