The African Peer Review Mechanism [APRM] is a Pan-African initiative to improve good governance and promote Socio-Economic Development. The objective of the APRM is to promote the adoption of policies, standards and best practices that enhance political stability, economic growth and sustainable development. (Thirty-five) African countries are currently members of the APRM. The APRM Forum of Heads of State and Government [APR Forum] has completed peer reviews in (17) seventeen countries.

Djibouti is the Eighteen (18th) Country to be peer reviewed at the Special Summit of the Heads of State and Government Participating in the APRM (APR Forum) scheduled for 29January 2016 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Within the framework of the 26th AU Summit, Dr. Mustapha Mekideche, Chairperson of the APR Panel, and the Chair of the APRM Focal Point Committee, will on Thursday 28 January 2016: at 18h30pm hold a press briefing on the following issues

Revitalization of APRM
Integration of APRM into the AU System

The Press briefing will be held in Briefing Room 1, at the new AU Conference Centre Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
