Opening of the 37th Ordinary Session of the Permanent Representatives’ Committee

INVITATION TO MEDIA REPRESENTATIVES

Theme: “Refugees, Returnees and Internally Displaced Persons: Towards Durable Solutions to Forced Displacement in Africa”.

What: 37th Ordinary Session of the Permanent Representatives’ Committee (PRC)

When: 15th – 16th January 2019

Time : 9:00 am

Where: Medium Conference Hall - African Union Headquarters, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

Who: African Union Commission

Why: The PRC will prepare the agenda of the 32nd AU Summit with appropriate recommendations for consideration by the Executive Council scheduled to take place from 7th - 8th February 2019. The meeting will bring together all the Ambassadors of the 55 African Union member states based in Addis Ababa and key AU officials.

The PRC will officially open on 15th January 2019; in the presence of the leadership and officials of the AU Commission. The opening ceremony will include among others, a speech by the Chairperson of the PRC, and a welcome remark by the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, followed by a group photo of the Ambassadors with the Members of the Commission.

Journalists are invited to cover the 37th Ordinary Session of the PRC on Tuesday 15th to Wednesday 16th January 2019.
