Agenda 2063 is the blueprint and master plan for transforming Africa into the global powerhouse of the future. It is the strategic framework for delivering on Africa’s goal for inclusive and sustainable development and is a concrete manifestation of the pan-African drive for unity, self-determination, freedom, progress and collective prosperity pursued under Pan-Africanism and African Renaissance.
H.E. Mr. Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda, was appointed to lead the AU institutional reforms process. He appointed a pan-African committee of experts to review and submit proposals for a system of governance for the AU that would ensure the organisation was better placed to address the challenges facing the continent with the aim of implementing programmes that have the highest impact on Africa’s growth and development so as to deliver on the vision of Agenda 2063.

Press Conference on the Outcome of the joint meeting between the African Union Commission, African Leaders Malaria Alliance, RBM Partnership to End Malaria and Regional Economic Communities to end Malaria in Africa by 2030
What: The African Union Commission, the African Leaders Malaria Alliance, the RBM Partnership to End Malaria and three Regional Economic Communities in Africa will announce agreements to coordinate and provide support to the national malaria programmes as well as streamline cross border collaboration and co-ordination to achieve continental and global targets to eliminate malaria by 2030 in Africa.
The RBM Partnership and ALMA signed separate MOUs at the African Union’s 33rd Summit in Niamey, Niger, to support the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS), the Southern African Development Community (SADC), and the West African Health Organization (WAHO) to accelerate malaria elimination across their regions.
Working together, ALMA, ECCAS and the RBM Partnership will develop the first-ever scorecard comprising data from 11 central African countries.
