Press Briefing on the Coronavirus Disease Outbreak
INVITATION TO REPRESENTATIVES OF THE MEDIA
WHAT: A follow-up press briefing to provide updated information to the media on the ongoing coronavirus disease outbreak. The briefing will provide information about the status of the disease and actions taken by African Union to prevent transmission in Africa.

Background Information
The number of cases of the ongoing outbreak of coronavirus disease is now more than 45,000, mainly in China. Until date there has been no confirmed case in any African country. Africa CDC is working with Member States to ensure adequate preparedness and response to the disease. In this briefing the Director of Africa CDC will provide update on the countermeasures being taken by Africa CDC to prevent transmission of the disease in the continent.
