Weekly Press Briefing on Coronavirus Disease Outbreak in Africa
INVITATION TO REPRESENTATIVES OF THE MEDIA
OVERVIEW: This briefing is a weekly engagement of the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) with the media to share critical updates on the current state of the COVID-19 pandemic in Africa and the status of implementing the adapted Africa Joint Continental Strategy for COVID-19 Outbreak, including Africa CDC’s response activities and the rollout of COVID-19 vaccines in AU Member States.
Thursday’s briefing will discuss the current status of the pandemic across the continent focusing on the third wave of infections and how Member States are coping, also highlighting how the combination of vaccination and public health and social measures have helped to bend the curve in many countries.
