H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, Chairperson of the African Union (AU) Commission, received H.E. Dr. Afkar Nadhim Ali Al Farsi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Ethiopia & Permanent Representative to the AU.

Ambassador Al Farsi conveyed a message of appreciation from H.E. Badr Al Busaidi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman, expressing gratitude to the Chairperson for his principled stance & continued solidarity in advocating for an end to the war in the Middle East through dialogue, diplomacy, & peaceful means.

The Chairperson reaffirmed the AU's commitment to respect for sovereignty & international law. He commended the constructive and balanced role played by the Omani leadership in promoting de-escalation, dialogue, & mediation efforts aimed at achieving a sustainable & peaceful resolution to the current crisis.

They also took the opportunity to exchange views on strengthening AU–Oman cooperation & reiterated their shared commitment to multilateralism, conflict prevention, & the promotion of peace - stability in both regions.
