Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, 31st January 2016: The African Union Commission on Sunday 31st January 2015, on the side lines of the 26th AU Summit hosted a luncheon in honour of the efforts against Ebola. The luncheon hosted by the Chairperson of the AU Commission featured a variety of traditional African dishes and musical entertainment and was attended by Heads of State and Government, senior government officials, AUC staff, partners and companies that contributed to the African Union Support to the Ebola Outbreak in West Africa (ASEOWA).

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, 31 January 2016: The African Union Commissioner for Political Affairs, Mrs. Aisha Laraba Abdullahi together with representatives from AU Organs and Institutions dealing with human rights issues, jointly addressed the press on the African Year of Human Rights with Special Focus on the Rights of Women. The press briefing took place on 30 January 2016 at the margin of the 26th AU Summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The other panelists included Hon. Pansy Tlakula, Chairperson of the African Commission on Human and People’s Rights; Hon.

Addis Ababa, 29 January 2016- The Executive Council at their 28th Ordinary Session held on 27 and 28 January 2016 at the AU headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, elected the fifteen (15) members of the Peace and Security Council (PSC) of the African Union and one member of the African Committee of Experts on the Rights and Welfare of the Child (ACEWRC).

The following five (5) Members of the Peace and Security Council for a three-year term as of March 2016:

1. Congo (Rep.) Central Region

2. Kenya Eastern Region

3. Egypt Northern Region
