Explore mechanisms to leverage private sector to mobilise African resources for health

Addis Ababa, 4 July 2017- The African Union Commission and the Global Fund met Tuesday 2nd July 2017 to further strengthen collaboration between the two institutions in implementing a raft of AU policy frameworks on health. The two institutions work together to advocate for increased investments in health on the continent and globally as well as promoting increased accountability.

New Study Reveals Economic Toll of Malnutrition in Democratic Republic Of Congo

KINSHASA 7 July 2017 – The economy of Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is losing 1,637 billion Congolese francs, or more than a billion dollars a year, to the effects of child undernutrition. This is equivalent to as much as 4.5 percent of Gross Domestic Product (GDP).*

Addis Ababa, 5th July 2017- The African Union Commission and the United Nations Population Fund met Saturday to discuss joint action to accelerate the implementation of the African Union Roadmap to Harness the Demographic Dividend through Investments in Youth. The Roadmap was endorsed by the Heads of State and Government in January this year.

29th Summit of the African Union closes after concentrating on three major continental issues

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, 04 July 2017: The 29th Ordinary Session of the Summit of the African Union has come to close after 9 days, during which various statutory organs of the Union met to get status updates and make decisions on issues of importance to the continent. At the final press conference held in Addis Ababa today, the AU Commission (AUC) Chairperson H.E. Mr Moussa Faki Mahamat said the summit focused on three main issues:
