Addis Ababa – 18th January 2016: The African Union Commission (AUC) through the Directorate of Conference Management and Publications (DCMP) made a presentation to the Permanent Representatives Committee (PRC), today, Monday 18th January 2016 on the occasion of launching the DCMP newly devised e-conferencing system, which will greatly facilitate the work of the African Union (AU) by providing easy access to documents and reducing paper consumption.

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, 19 January 2016: The Official opening ceremony of the 8th Gender Pre-Summit today, Tuesday 19 January 2016, brought together over four hundred delegates from across the continent and abroad in the AU Headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The Nelson Mandela plenary hall at the New AU Conference Center was full to capacity with women leaders in all the socio-economic and political sectors who gathered to exchange views on the theme: 2016 African Year of Human Rights with Particular Focus on the rights of Women.

Today’s launch of the project for the computerization of meetings of the AU Commission marks a new era in the working methods of the African Union Commission. It is a turning point, a date which is a milestone in the history of the African Union. Today, we are proud to say that, with regard to conference management, the Commission is at the forefront, comparable to other international and continental institutions as the United Nations and the European Union!
