April.04.2016 – April 08.2016 Capacity building workshop to support establishment of Internet Exchange Points in Bangui, Central African Republic.
African Union Commission in partnership with Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and New Technologies of Central African Republic organized a capacity building workshop to support the establishment of Internet Exchange Point in Central African Republic from 04-08 April 2016. Internet Society has facilitated the workshop.
The workshop is a continuation of the support through the African Internet Exchange System (AXIS) project to Member states that do not have Internet Exchange Points.
March.14.2016 – March 18.2016 Capacity building workshop to support establishment of Internet Exchange Points in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea.
African Union Commission in partnership with Ministry of Transport, Technology, Posts and Telecommunications of Equatorial Guinea organized a capacity building workshop to support the establishment of Internet Exchange Point in Equatorial Guinea from 14-18 March 2016. Internet Society (ISOC) has facilitated and conducted the workshop.
The workshop is a continuation of the support through the African Internet Exchange System (AXIS) project to Member states that do not have Internet Exchange Points.
March 17, 2016 Launching of Internet Exchange Point in Madagascar
With the support of the African Internet Exchange System (AXIS) Project, African Union Commission (AUC) in collaboration with the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and New Technologies of Madagascar officially launched the IXP in Madagascar on 17 March 2016.
AU Commissioner for DREA signs MoU with FAO on TCP Project
Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, 09 March 2016: H.E. Tumusiime Rhoda Peace Commissioner for the Department of Rural Economy and Agriculture (DREA) at the African union Commission (AUC), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). The agreement will create a working partnership that enables both the AUC and the FAO to pursue collaborative activities and projects in order to provide technical assistance for the execution of the Technical Cooperation Project (TCP).

AU Commission Chairperson discusses Darfur Referendum with Sudanese delegation
Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – 9 March 2016: The Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC), Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, met with a Sudanese delegation led by the Chairman of the Darfur Regional Authority (DRA), Dr. Tijani Sisi, on Wednesday, 10 March 2016, at the AU Commission. The DRA Chairman was accompanied by the Chairman of the Follow-Up Committee for Darfur, Dr. Amin Hassan Omer.
The African Union Commission and the Network for African National Human Rights Institutions Sign MOU to Strengthen Cooperation and Collaboration
Addis Ababa, 07 March 2015: The African Union Commission (AUC) and the Network for African National Human Rights Institutions (NANHRI) have today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for strengthening cooperation and collaboration between the two parties to facilitate the development and integration agenda of the African Union.
The Commissioner for Political Affairs and the Head of the EU Delegation to the AU Endorse a Joint Work Plan in the Area of Human Rights

Dr. Aisha Laraba Abdullahi, Commissioner for Political Affairs of the African Union Commission and Ambassador Gary QUINCE, Head of the EU Delegation to the AU met today at the AU Headquarters to endorse a joint Action Plan in the area of Human Rights and Transitional Justice in Africa.
The two sides expressed their appreciation to the high-level of cooperation that exists between the AU and EU in the area of human rights.
