The Chairperson of the AU Commission, H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, this afternoon received H.E. Ms. Ayano Kunimitsu, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of #Japan, at the AU Headquarters in Addis Ababa.

The Chairperson welcomed Minister Kunimitsu & underscored over three decades of strong AU–Japan cooperation, notably through the TICAD process, hailing TICAD 9 held in Yokohama as a significant milestone in the partnership.

The Chairperson of the AU Commission, H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, this afternoon received H.E. Miguel Ntutumu Evuna Andeme, Ambassador of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea to Ethiopia & Permanent Representative to the African Union.

The 51^st Ordinary Session of the Permanent Representatives’ Committee (PRC) kicked off today, ahead of the 48^th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council and the 39^th Summit of the African Union, scheduled to take place on 14 -15 February 2026, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The Chairperson of the AU Commission, H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf this morning received the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Burundi to the African Union, H.E. Ambassador @willynyamitwe, who made a courtesy. They took the opportunity to discuss regional issues & Burundi’s upcoming Chairmanship of the African Union.

The Chairperson reaffirmed the Commission’s full support to Burundi during its tenure.
