H.E President William Samoei Ruto (PhD), President of the Republic of Kenya and the African Union Champion on Institutional Reform. H.E. Ruto was appointed during the 37th Assembly of Heads of State and Government in February 2024 to champion the AU Institutional Reform process taking over from the H.E Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda who led the implementation of the reform process since 2016.

Arusha, 19 September, 2016: The Arusha-based African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights (AfCHPR) and the Banjul-based African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights (ACHPR) today began their Fifth Annual Meeting in Arusha, Tanzania.
The first extraordinary session of the Specialized Technical Committee of the African Union on Communication and Information and Communication Technologies was held on 16th of September, 2016 in Bamako (Republic of Mali).
The Conference was attended by 12 Member States and three continental organizations.
Addis Ababa, Ethiopia 16th September 2016: The African Union’s financing requirements are increasing with the evolution of projects and development programs of the continent. This therefore underscores the need for reliable and predictable self-financing mechanisms of the AU operations and programs.
