30 November-1st December, 2016 Accra, Ghana; Gathered under the Partnership Forum of African Union-Organization of African Trade Union Unity (AU-OATUU), Trade Union Organizations met in Accra, Ghana from 30 November-1st December 2016. The Partnership Forum has drawn participation of various labour organizations from the five regions of the continent under the umbrella of AU-OATUU, to situate themselves within the ongoing prosecution of the AU Agenda 2063 as well as other continental action plans including those on migration.

The Citizens and Diaspora Directorate of the African Union Commission (CIDO), in partnership with the Encyclopaedia Africana Project Secretariat in Accra, Ghana, have completed a technical workshop aimed at revitalizing the implementation of the Encyclopaedia Africana within the framework of the First 10-Year Implementation Plan of the AU Agenda 2063.

CIDO holds the 1st Continental Workshop for Diaspora Focal Points of AU Member states

13-15 December 2016 – Cairo, Egypt – The Citizens and Diaspora Directorate (CIDO) held a three-day workshop for Diaspora Focal Points of AU Member States in Cairo, Egypt. The workshop harnessed efforts geared towards building the capacity of AU Member States in the field of Diaspora engagement by connecting them with technical resources from AU Commission, RECS, Diaspora and other AU Member States.

Kampala, Uganda, 09 December 2016: The Department of Political Affairs (DPA) of the African Union Commission (AUC) commenced a Consultative Dialogue on a Cooperative Framework on Human Rights and Transitional Justice Mechanisms in Darfur. The Consultation is taking place in Kampala, Uganda with close cooperation with UNAMID Human Rights Section, The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) and technical and financial support from the Centre for the Study of Violence and Reconciliation (CSVR).
