Addis Ababa, 8 February 2016: Following an invitation from the Government of the Republic of Uganda, the Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC), Her Excellency Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, has approved the deployment of an African Union Short-Term Election Observation (STO) Mission to the Republic of Uganda’s Presidential, Parliamentary and Local Council Elections scheduled for 18 February 2016.

Arusha, 5 February, 2016: The Republic of Chad has deposited its instrument of ratification of the Protocol to the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights on the establishment of the African Court on Human and Peoples’ Right, bringing the number of African Union (AU) Member States to have ratified it to 30.

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, 31 January 2016: The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the of New Partnership for Africa’s Development NEPAD Agency Dr. Ibrahim Mayaki addressed the press on 29 January, 2016 at the African Union Commission (AUC), Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. He presented the outcome of the 34th NEPAD Heads of State and Government Orientation Committee (HSGOC) meeting. The NEPAD HSGOC was chaired by H.E. Macky Sall, President of the Republic of Senegal and Chairperson of the HSGOC, in the presence of H.E Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC).
