Addis Ababa, 20 November 2015: The African Union Commission in partnership with the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (IDEA) is organising a three-day global conference on electoral risk management in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from 1-3 December 2015.

The Electoral Risk Management Conference brings together over 100 participants from electoral management bodies (EMBs) in Africa, global and regional electoral assistance providers, and conflict and peacebuilding organisations across the world.

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, 30 November 2015: The African Union Commission (AUC), through its’ Department of Infrastructure and Energy, and Reykjavik Geothermal ehf signed a Grant Contract for financial support - totaling USD 1,314,000, to conduct surface study activities at the Reykjavík Geothermal ehf owned Tulu-Moye geothermal prospect located in Ethiopia. The Grant Contract was signed by the AUC Commissioner for Infrastructure and Energy, Dr. Elham M. A. Ibrahim, and Mr. Jón Örn Jónsson, on behalf of Reykjavik Geothermal ehf, at the AUC headquarter.

Rome, Italy – 30 November 2015: The African Union Commission (AUC) has been awarded the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) Award for 2014-2015, for its significant contribution towards the improvement of global food security. The Deputy Chairperson of the AUC, H.E. Erastus Mwencha, received the award at a ceremony that took place on Monday, 30 November 2015, at the Headquarters of the FAO in Rome, Italy.
