Objectives:

Kigali, Rwanda, 22 November 2015: The AU-EU CSOs Seminar on Democratic Governance and Human Rights concluded its 5th round today in Kigali, Rwanda, prior to the official AU-EU Human Rights Dialogue, which is to take place on 24 November 2015. AU Commissioner for Political Affairs, H.E. Dr. Aisha L. Abdullahi will lead the Dialogue from the African side and the EU Special Representative for Human Rights, Mr. Stavros Lambrinidis from the EU side.

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – 23 November 2015: The African Union Commission (AUC) Chairperson, Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, has welcomed the new President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, to the African Union Headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. They met on Monday, 23 November 2015 on his first official visit to the AU.

What: First African Girls’ Summit on Ending Child Marriage in Africa

When: 26 – 27 November 2015

The Summit will be preceded by a Youth Pre-Summit that will take place from 24th to 25th November 2015 during which a Youth Pavilion will be set up as a space for youth to interact during the Summit.

Who: The Summit is organized by the Department of Social Affairs of the African Union Commission (AUC) in collaboration with the Government of the Republic of Zambia
