The Directorate of Information and Communication (DIC) of the African Union Commission (AUC) hereby announces that the online registration for journalists interested to cover the Second African Union-European Union ministerial meeting, scheduled to take place from 25-26 October 2021, in Kigali, Republic of Rwanda, has been launched on the AU website.

The Directorate of Information and Communication (ICD) of the African Union Commission (AUC) hereby announces that the online registration for journalists interested to cover the 39th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council and the 3rd Mid-Year Coordination Meeting scheduled to take place from 14-16 October 2021 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia has been launched on the AU website.

Statement of the Commissioner for of Health, Humanitarian affairs and Social Development H.E. Amira Elfadil Mohammed Elfadil of Media Reports on the Arrest and Detention of Migrants in Libya
The African Union Commission is following with great concern the news media reports about the developments in Libya regarding African migrants. According to the media, more than 4000 migrants have been arbitrarily arrested and detained, including women and children, and the death of one person.

The Republic of Gabon became the fourteenth (14th) member state deposited the instrument of ratification of the African Medicines Agency (AMA) to the AU Commission on 4th October 2021 after ratifying it on the 1st October 2021 in Libreville, Gabon. H.E. Amira Elfadil Mohammed, Commissioner for Health, Humanitarian Affairs and Social Development, at the AU Commission received the instrument from the Ambassador of Gabon to Ethiopia and the African Union Amb. Hermann Imongault.
