INVITATION TO THE MEDIA REPRESENTATIVES
WHAT: On the sidelines of the 38th African Union (AU) Summit, this high-level platform will focus on strengthening innovative partnerships to sustain and expand the Peace Fund.
The platform will also serve as an official recognition ceremony for key contributors, reaffirming Africa’s commitment to self-reliant peace financing.

The African Union (AU) Peace Fund stands as the continent’s primary mechanism for financing African-led peace initiatives, ensuring predictable and sustainable resources for conflict prevention, mediation, and long-term stability efforts. Read more at: https://au.int/en/PeaceFund
WHY: Since its revitalization in 2018, the AU Peace Fund has achieved major milestones, including reaching the $400 million initial endowment target through contributions from AU Member States and partners. However, as peace and security challenges intensify, greater commitments and diversified funding sources are required to sustain the Fund’s long-term effectiveness.
This platform will recognize leading contributors to the Peace Fund, reinforcing the importance of sustained financial commitments.
