AU Commission Chairperson to address the UN-AU Summit in New York

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia - 13 April 2017: The Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC) H.E. Mr. Moussa Faki Mahamat, will address the United Nations- African Union (UN-AU) Annual Conference on 19 April 2017, in New York, United States of America.

The annual conference between the UN and AU members will focus on strategies of strengthening UN-AU partnership in the areas of promoting complementarity between Agenda 2030 and Agenda 2063; peace and security; and economic cooperation.

H.E. Moussa Faki Mahamat will take this opportunity to hold bilateral meeting with H.E Mr. Antonio Guterres, UN Secretary General.

The two principals are expected to sign the Joint UN-AU Framework on Sustainable Development, and Peace and Security.
