Agenda 2063 is the blueprint and master plan for transforming Africa into the global powerhouse of the future. It is the strategic framework for delivering on Africa’s goal for inclusive and sustainable development and is a concrete manifestation of the pan-African drive for unity, self-determination, freedom, progress and collective prosperity pursued under Pan-Africanism and African Renaissance.
H.E. Mr. Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda, was appointed to lead the AU institutional reforms process. He appointed a pan-African committee of experts to review and submit proposals for a system of governance for the AU that would ensure the organisation was better placed to address the challenges facing the continent with the aim of implementing programmes that have the highest impact on Africa’s growth and development so as to deliver on the vision of Agenda 2063.

Thirty Fifth (35th) Ordinary Session of the Permanent Representatives Committee (PRC) to officially open on Monday 22 January 2018
at the African Union Headquarters
When: 22nd – 23rd January 2018
Time: as from 09:00 am
Where: Medium Conference Hall - African Union Headquarters, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The PRC will be officially opened by the Chairperson of the PRC, with welcome remarks by the Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC) in the presence of the Deputy Chairperson of the AUC and the AU Commissioners, followed by a group photo of the Ambassadors with the Members of the Commission.

Objectives:
The PRC meeting is the first statutory meeting of the 30th Ordinary Session of the Summit of the AU, which will be held from 22nd - 29th January 2018. The PRC meeting will prepare the agenda of the AU Summit with appropriate recommendations for consideration by the Executive Council, scheduled to take place from 25th to 26th January 2018. The meeting will bring together all the Ambassadors of the 55 African Union Member States based in Addis Ababa and other key AU officials.
