Promoting Africa’s growth and economic development by championing citizen inclusion and increased cooperation and integration of African states.
Agenda 2063 is the blueprint and master plan for transforming Africa into the global powerhouse of the future. It is the strategic framework for delivering on Africa’s goal for inclusive and sustainable development and is a concrete manifestation of the pan-African drive for unity, self-determination, freedom, progress and collective prosperity pursued under Pan-Africanism and African Renaissance.
H.E. Mr. Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda, was appointed to lead the AU institutional reforms process. He appointed a pan-African committee of experts to review and submit proposals for a system of governance for the AU that would ensure the organisation was better placed to address the challenges facing the continent with the aim of implementing programmes that have the highest impact on Africa’s growth and development so as to deliver on the vision of Agenda 2063.
The AU offers exciting opportunities to get involved in determining continental policies and implementing development programmes that impact the lives of African citizens everywhere. Find out more by visiting the links on right.
The African Union launched its new look Careers website https://careers.au.int/ to help identify and recruit the best African talent that will contribute towards delivering Africa’s Agenda 2063.
The website features the new Merit Based Recruitment System (MBRS) via SAP SuccessFactors® which will allow applicants to have a smoother, faster and friendlier experience.
The MBRS is designed to be one of the benchmarks of recruitment not only in Africa but in international organisations, regionally and worldwide. The MBRS is a user-friendly recruitment platform that is designed to favour merit and make fairness a hallmark of the recruitment process. All applicants will be notified at each stage as their candidature is progressing. It is also designed to be interactive and responsive to enable all African talents to live a unique recruitment experience.
The launch of the new website and the new application tracking system are particularly timely given the ongoing AU institutional reforms which focus on promoting operational effectiveness and efficiency in the delivery of the Union’s mandate. The new recruitment platform offers all AU citizens the opportunity to pursue a career in a rewarding and challenging work environment with great learning and development possibilities and is designed to attract and retain the best African talent from within the continent as well as from the African diaspora.
