The Series of a Virtual Conference, which commenced on 25 May 2020 in commemoration of Africa Day and ended on 8 June 2020, were convened by the Peace and Security Department in collaboration with the Department of Political Affairs of the African Union Commission, to give impetus to the efforts towards campaign on silencing the guns in Africa. The Conference was also aimed at highlighting the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and related challenges in the implementation of the AU theme of the year: “Silencing the Guns: Creating Conducive Conditions for Africa’s Development”.

Le Président de la Commission de l’Union africaine, Moussa Faki Mahamat, prend acte de la publication le 04 juin 2020 des résultats définitifs de l’élection présidentielle du 20 mai 2020 au Burundi et forme ses vœux de plein succès au Président élu Son Excellence Monsieur Evariste Ndayishimiye dans l’exercice de ses nouvelles responsabilités.
