La situation au Sahel se présente aujourd’hui comme l’un des défis majeurs auxquels l’Afrique est confrontée. Sa complexité est connue de tous.

S’il est heureux de relever que ce constat fait désormais l’objet d’un large consensus, les défis dont il s’agit sont loin d’avoir suscité des réponses adéquates.

L’on compte de multiples stratégies, promues par des acteurs internationaux, pour s’attaquer aux différentes facettes des problèmes que connaît le Sahel.

Addis Ababa, 22 February 2018: The Chairperson of the Commission of the African Union, Moussa Faki Mahamat, undertook a visit to Harare, Zimbabwe, from 18 to 20 February 2018. He was accompanied by the Commissioner for Political Affairs, Minata Cessouma Samate, and other senior officials of the Commission.

African Union Research Grants II Open Call for Proposals 2018 Edition

The African Union Commission, with the support of the European Union, has launched the 2018 Open Call for Proposals of the 2nd Phase of the African Union Research Grant on February 23, 2018.
This call for proposal supports Africa’s Science Technology and Innovation Strategy-2024 which addresses the aspirations identified under Agenda 2063 and Priority 3 on Human development of the EU-Africa partnership. The call supports research on: Food, Nutrition Security and Sustainable Agriculture (FNSSA) with particular attention on Agriculture and Food Systems for Nutrition.

Djibouti, 21 February 2018 – H.E Mr. Abdoulkader Kamil Mohamed, Prime Minister of the Republic of Djibouti and Chief of the presidential majority on 21 February 2018, received in audience H.E. Mr. Anicet-Georges Dologuélé, Head of the African Union (AU) Elections Observation Mission, and former Prime Minister of the Central African Republic. The meeting was aimed at assessing the political landscape and the state of preparedness of the country ahead of the February 23 Legislative Elections.
