MEDIA ANNOUNCEMENT/ 26th AU SUMMIT

Media representatives are kindly informed that the 26th African Union Summit is scheduled to take place from the 21st to the 31st of January 2016, at the AU Headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The theme of the Summit is: “ 2016: African Year of Human Rights with particular focus on the Rights of Women”

Specific dates for the meetings of the different AU organs and decision-making bodies during the Summit will be as follows:

As part of the organization’s reform initiatives, AU Careers the talent attraction platform for the African Union Commission is being overhauled in a bid to provide a more robust and collaborative platform.

On 10 December 1948, history was made when the General Assembly of the United Nations adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). As members of the United Nations, African Member States are part of the commemoration of this very important day in the international human rights calendar.
