Agenda 2063 is the blueprint and master plan for transforming Africa into the global powerhouse of the future. It is the strategic framework for delivering on Africa’s goal for inclusive and sustainable development and is a concrete manifestation of the pan-African drive for unity, self-determination, freedom, progress and collective prosperity pursued under Pan-Africanism and African Renaissance.

H.E President William Samoei Ruto (PhD), President of the Republic of Kenya and the African Union Champion on Institutional Reform. H.E. Ruto was appointed during the 37th Assembly of Heads of State and Government in February 2024 to champion the AU Institutional Reform process taking over from the H.E Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda who led the implementation of the reform process since 2016.

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) held a special high-level event to present the new volumes of the General History of Africa Encyclopedia at its headquarters in Paris. The event took place on 17th October 2025.

The African Energy Commission (AFREC) in partnership with the International Energy Agency (IEA) and the African Development Bank (AfDB), has successfully concluded energy efficiency training of more than 200 energy practitioners during the African Energy Efficiency Training Week, in Accra, Ghana.
More than 30 traditional and religious leaders from 17 African countries have pledged to intensify efforts to advance girls’ education and eradicate child marriage. This commitment was made during a high-level workshop held in Dakar, Senegal, from 22nd – 23rd October 2025, organised by the African Union International Centre for Girls and Women’s Education in Africa (AU CIEFFA), in collaboration with the UN Women Regional Office for West Africa and UN Women AULO.
African leaders, global investors, and development partners will gather in Luanda from 28-31 October 2025 for the III Summit on Financing for Infrastructure Development in Africa. Held under the High Patronage of H.E. João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço, President of Angola and the African Union Chairperson, the summit aims to turn the theme “Capital, Corridors, Trade: Investing in infrastructure for the AFCFTA and shared prosperity” into concrete action, directly addressing Africa's infrastructure financing needs to fuel continental integration.
The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, notes the official proclamation by the Constitutional Council of the Republic of Cameroon on the final results of the presidential election of 12 October 2025.
To this effect, the Chairperson extends congratulations to His Excellency Paul BIYA on his victory, as the re-elected President of the Republic of Cameroon.
However, the Chairperson is gravely concerned about the reported violence, repression and arrests of protesters and political actors in connection with the election results.
