Agenda 2063 is the blueprint and master plan for transforming Africa into the global powerhouse of the future. It is the strategic framework for delivering on Africa’s goal for inclusive and sustainable development and is a concrete manifestation of the pan-African drive for unity, self-determination, freedom, progress and collective prosperity pursued under Pan-Africanism and African Renaissance.
H.E President William Samoei Ruto (PhD), President of the Republic of Kenya and the African Union Champion on Institutional Reform. H.E. Ruto was appointed during the 37th Assembly of Heads of State and Government in February 2024 to champion the AU Institutional Reform process taking over from the H.E Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda who led the implementation of the reform process since 2016.

INDEPENDENT AUDITOR'S REPORT ON THE AFRICAN UNION (AU) CONSOLIDATED FINANCIAL STATEMENTS FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2024
The AU Commission Chairperson, H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, received UN Deputy Secretary-General @AminaJMohammed today at AU HQ in Addis Ababa this afternoon.
Their exchange reaffirmed commitment to the AU-UN Framework Agreement on enhanced partnership in peace & security, focusing on preventive diplomacy, mediation, peace operations, & sustainable development.
They also reviewed regional security dynamics & underscored the importance of African-led solutions.
The Chairperson of the AU Commission H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf met this morning with H.E. Amb. @BerikAryn, Director General of @IOFS_Official, on the margins of #UNFSS+4. They explored ways of strengthening cooperation to advance food security & agricultural transformation in line with AU Agenda 2063 and the priorities of AU Member States.
Each year, Pan-African Women’s Day (PAWD) reminds us of the enduring legacy, resilience, and leadership of African women. However, as we celebrate, we must also confront a lingering truth: far too many pregnant and breastfeeding women in Africa are still left behind in HIV prevention efforts.

At #UNFSS+4, AUC Chair H.E. @ymahmoudali issued a powerful call to action: Food systems transformation, he stressed, is not just a moral imperative: it is a strategic necessity central to achieving the SDGs, especially ending hunger, reducing poverty, & building climate-resilient economies.
On the margins of #UNFSS2025, AUC Chairperson H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf met with WFP Executive Director H.E. Cindy McCain. He commended WFP’s vital role in advancing food security & humanitarian action across Africa — key pillars of #Agenda2063.
They both reaffirmed the strong AU-WFP partnership & agreed to review the existing MoU to deepen collaboration in addressing food systems challenges and fostering sustainable development across the continent.
