Members of the diplomatic corps in Ethiopia,
Ladies and Gentlemen,

I am most delighted to be the first president of the Republic of Korea to address the African Union which embodies the aspirations of one billion Africans for peace, harmony and prosperity.

As I stand here in this particular hall,
I am reminded of Madiba's indomitable faith in human dignity, equality and freedom.

I am honoured to be with you tonight. This occasion marks the 53rd Anniversary of the founding of the Organization of the African Unity, now the African Union.
