Agenda 2063 is the blueprint and master plan for transforming Africa into the global powerhouse of the future. It is the strategic framework for delivering on Africa’s goal for inclusive and sustainable development and is a concrete manifestation of the pan-African drive for unity, self-determination, freedom, progress and collective prosperity pursued under Pan-Africanism and African Renaissance.
H.E President William Samoei Ruto (PhD), President of the Republic of Kenya and the African Union Champion on Institutional Reform. H.E. Ruto was appointed during the 37th Assembly of Heads of State and Government in February 2024 to champion the AU Institutional Reform process taking over from the H.E Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda who led the implementation of the reform process since 2016.

The Chairperson of the AU Commission H.E. @ymahmoudali paid a courtesy call on H.E. Madam Adanech Abebe, the Mayor of Addis Ababa. He commended her for the city's transformation & conveyed the gratitude to the host city of the AU. He reaffirmed his commitment to deepening ties, noting Addis Ababa's potential to share its experiences with other African cities.
The Mayor congratulated the Chairperson on his election & reiterated her readiness to further strengthen cooperation with the AUC for the benefit of both the city and the continent.

This afternoon, H.E. @ymahmoudali, Chairperson of the African Union Commission, convened a strategic consultation with Ambassadors of the five permanent members of the UN Security Council and the A3+ (Algeria, Sierra Leone, Somalia) in Addis Ababa. The deliberation focused on reinforcing Africa’s role in promoting peace, security, and sustainable development.
The Chairperson underscored the imperative of enhanced multilateral cooperation to address common challenges and affirmed the AU Commission’s commitment to institutionalising this dialogue platform.
The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, this morning held consultations with the Ambassadors of Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger accredited to the African Union.
The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on the political situation in their respective countries and explore avenues for renewed engagement towards the restoration of constitutional order, in line with AU norms and shared commitments.

Flag-raising of the African Union (AU) symbol alongside the flags of countries and organisations at national, regional, continental and international levels is a highly significant action as it promotes the vision, missions, programs and flagship projects of the African Union, as well as the Africa Agenda 2063, reinforcing the importance of collaboration and shared goals among nations.
As Africa works to strengthen peace and stability in an evolving landscape, it is also advancing a dynamic agenda of development priorities.
