Media Announcement : 36th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the AU 42nd Ordinary Session of the Executive Council 15-19 February 2023

The Information and Communication Directorate (ICD) of the African Union Commission (AUC) hereby announces that the online registration for journalists interested to cover the 42nd Ordinary Session of the Executive Council and the 36th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the AU scheduled to take place from 15-19 February 2023, has been launched on the AU website. These two sessions will be preceded by that of the Permanent Representatives Committee.

The AU Media Fellowship programme is designed to provide a unique platform for African journalists and content producers to enhance their capacity to reframe the African narrative and ensure that stories about the continent are balanced and reflects the experiences of Africans in compelling and creative ways. As part of the fellowship programme study trip to South Africa, we organised a networking session with the Africa Regional Media Hub, this is part of the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Public Affairs that works to connect U.S. policy makers and experts with media in Africa.

Citizens need to be informed as countries take on new responsibilities as we continue to build the Africa we want as underscored in Agenda 2063 more specifically Aaspiration Three (3), which calls for an Africa with universal culture of good governance, democratic values, gender equality, and respect for human rights, justice and the rule of law.
