Agenda 2063 is the blueprint and master plan for transforming Africa into the global powerhouse of the future. It is the strategic framework for delivering on Africa’s goal for inclusive and sustainable development and is a concrete manifestation of the pan-African drive for unity, self-determination, freedom, progress and collective prosperity pursued under Pan-Africanism and African Renaissance.

H.E President William Samoei Ruto (PhD), President of the Republic of Kenya and the African Union Champion on Institutional Reform. H.E. Ruto was appointed during the 37th Assembly of Heads of State and Government in February 2024 to champion the AU Institutional Reform process taking over from the H.E Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda who led the implementation of the reform process since 2016.

The Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF2020) Postponed due to COVID-19
Cairo, 29 April 2020: – In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), the African Union (AU) and the Government of Rwanda have decided to postpone by one year the second Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF2020) initially set to take place from 1 to 7 September 2020 in Kigali, Rwanda.
This decision was endorsed by the IATF2020 Advisory Council during its sixth meeting held virtually on 26 April 2020, after careful assessment of the situation.
Following an invitation, from the African and Arab Affairs Association in the Egyptian Journalists Syndicate, a seminar was held with the presence of H.E. Amb. Abdel Hamid Bouzaher, head of the Permanent Delegation of the African Union, H.E. Amb. Abu Bakr Hafni, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for African Affairs in Egypt, with the participation of the Association President Ashraf Badr and moderated of the seminar DR. Ahmed Abd Allah Fares, Secretary General of the Association.
Sharm El Sheikh, Arab Republic of Egypt - 17 December 2019: Dr Amani Abou-Zeid, AU Commissioner for Infrastructure and Energy, addressed the third edition of the World Youth Forum organized in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt from 14 to 17 December 2019 under the auspices of President Abdelfattah El Sisi, Chairperson of the African Union. The event was attended by over 7000 participants from Africa and worldwide.
Aswan, Arab Republic of Egypt – 13 December 2019: H.E. Dr Amani Abou-Zeid, AU Commissioner for Infrastructure and Energy, attended the “Aswan Forum for Sustainable Peace and Development” which took place on 11-12 December in Aswan, Egypt under the auspices of H.E. Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Egyptian President and Chairperson of the African Union.
Cairo, Egypt: 1 - 11 December 2019: “We charge you to be builders, transformers, changemakers, to be the ones who carry our continent forward and steer us towards the Africa We Want”. The Commissioner of the Human Resources, Science and Technology Department (HRST), H.E Prof. Sarah Anyang Agbor remarked at the closing ceremony of the African Union Youth Volunteer Corps Training.
Cairo, Egypt: 1 December 2019: “The African Union Youth Volunteer Corp (AU-YVC) requires your full commitment and dedication. And it is not easy! But by keeping an open mind, resilience and pan African solidarity, you should be unstoppable.” These were the words of the African Union Commission’s Prudence Ngwenya, Head of Youth Division said at the opening ceremony of the African Union youth volunteers 10th cohort pre-deployment training hosted by the Government of Egypt.
A training of Trainers for African Energy Experts is on-going in Cairo. The training which has been organised to train energy statistics from all African Union Member states is targeting to qualify (20) energy experts who will become future trainers of other energy statistics focal points in their home countries.
