The African Food Regulatory Authorities Forum (AFRAF), comprising heads of food safety and regulatory agencies from 37 AU Member States, held its maiden forum from 11-13 October 2023 in Cairo, Egypt,

Cairo, 25 September 2023. Eleven African countries are taking part in a training on advanced plant health science and state-of-the-art digital tools that will better equip field staff and administrators to make timely decisions to prevent plant pest outbreaks. 

The 2nd African Union Workshop on the Review of the AU Policy on Post-Conflict Reconstruction and Development (AU-PCRD), was held in Cairo, Egypt from May 30th June 1st, 2023. The workshop was hosted by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Department of African Organizations and Communities) and the Cairo International Center for Conflict Resolution, Peacekeeping and Peacebuilding (CCCPA), in cooperation with the African Union Commission (Department of Political Affairs, Peace and Security) and the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD).

“Implementation of Climate Actions and Africa’s Responses for a Just and Sustainable Transition” was the theme for the Africa Day held on the margins of the ongoing Twenty-Seventh Session of the Conference of the Parties (COP27) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.
