Agenda 2063 is the blueprint and master plan for transforming Africa into the global powerhouse of the future. It is the strategic framework for delivering on Africa’s goal for inclusive and sustainable development and is a concrete manifestation of the pan-African drive for unity, self-determination, freedom, progress and collective prosperity pursued under Pan-Africanism and African Renaissance.

H.E President William Samoei Ruto (PhD), President of the Republic of Kenya and the African Union Champion on Institutional Reform. H.E. Ruto was appointed during the 37th Assembly of Heads of State and Government in February 2024 to champion the AU Institutional Reform process taking over from the H.E Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda who led the implementation of the reform process since 2016.

The Commissioner for Trade and Industry, H.E. Albert Muchanga, in collaboration with the State Minister of Trade and Industry, H.E. Ambassador Mesganu Arga Moach, State Minister of Trade and Industry of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and a Representative of the International Trade Centre, Mr. Vittorio Cammarota briefed the Permanent Representatives Committee (PRC) on the upcoming Africa Industrialization Week to be held from 18th to 22nd November, 2019 at the African Union headquarters in Addis Ababa.
The Ministerial segment of the Third Ordinary Session of the Specialized Technical Committee (STC) on Agriculture, Rural Development, Water and Environment opened today at the AUC Headquarters with a view to addressing the challenges facing the continent like food insecurity and the effects of climate change.
Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – 21 October 2019: The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat held discussions with a high level AU UN delegation led by the United Nations Deputy Secretary-General Ms Amina Mohammed in Addis Abeba today.
The UN Deputy Secretary-General briefed the Chairperson of the the Joint AU UN Solidarity Mission that she was leading to Ethiopia, Djibouti, Eritrea, Somalia and Sudan and its priorities regarding the participation of women in issues of peace and security.

The AU Teacher Prize has been established as a means for demonstrating respect for teachers and the teaching profession, by encouraging and celebrating the committed teachers in Africa. The Prize raises the status of teaching, facilitates sharing of best practices in teacher excellence, and inspires the best possible candidates to join the teaching profession.
Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, 21 October 2019- The status of the Teacher in Africa is critical to achieving Agenda 2063 vision of integration, peace and prosperity, by facilitating acquisition of not just skills and knowledge, but also requisite values and attitudes; and therefore the status of the Teacher must unquestionably assured.
AU-UN support and commitment to work with countries in the Horn of Africa in their pursuit of peace, stability and related issues, such as credible elections.

The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat, met Elhadj As Sy, the Secretary General of International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), and discussed ways of strengthening the current partnership between the AU Commission and IFRC in the areas of humanitarian action, humanitarian diplomacy and response to epidemics at the continental level.
