Agenda 2063 is the blueprint and master plan for transforming Africa into the global powerhouse of the future. It is the strategic framework for delivering on Africa’s goal for inclusive and sustainable development and is a concrete manifestation of the pan-African drive for unity, self-determination, freedom, progress and collective prosperity pursued under Pan-Africanism and African Renaissance.
H.E. Mr. Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda, was appointed to lead the AU institutional reforms process. He appointed a pan-African committee of experts to review and submit proposals for a system of governance for the AU that would ensure the organisation was better placed to address the challenges facing the continent with the aim of implementing programmes that have the highest impact on Africa’s growth and development so as to deliver on the vision of Agenda 2063.

Addis Ababa, 9 October 2016 –The Ministerial segment of the second Specialized Technical Committee (STC) on Agriculture, Rural Development, Water and Environment opened 5th October 2017 at the AUC Headquarters.
Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, September 26, 2017- As the African Union implements its transformative framework, Agenda 2063, the Commission is keen on institutional reforms that create a conducive environment to drive the vision of an integrated and united continent. The Commission has introduced various capacity building initiatives, such as the Kaizen project, to manage and enhance performance across the organization.

The African Union Commission in collaboration with the Government of South Africa organized a Special Meeting of African Union Ministers of Trade, on 18 September 2017 in Addis Ababa. The main purpose of the Informal Meeting was to enable Africa to discuss and formulate common positions on current issues of offensive and defensive interest as well as new issues before the 3rd Mini-Ministerial World Trade Organization (WTO) Meeting on 9-10 October 2017 in Marrakech, Morocco and the 11th Ministerial Conference of the WTO (WTO-MC11).
This CCICT-2 will gather Ministers responsible of ICT and Post as well as Ministers in charge of Communication and Information from AU member States, AU Specialized Institutions and International Organizations, African and International Partners of Africa dealing with Communication and Information Technologies.
The main objective of the CCICT session is to adopt strategies and Action Plans for projects and programs implementation at the continental and regional levels for the Communication and ICT sectors.
