Ethiopia

The Department of Political Affairs, Peace and Security of the African Union Commission (AUC), in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Rwanda in Ethiopia and Permanent Mission to the African Union, commemorated the 29th anniversary of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsis in Rwanda, on Friday, 7 April 2023, at the AU Headquarters.

The signing of the negotiated agreement on the 19^th of February 2023, at the African Union Headquarters on the side-lines of the 36^th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the Union ended an extensive negotiation between the African Union, ANOCA and AASC on the organization of the Africa Games in Accra, Ghana

On 19^th February, the Assembly of the African Union appointed Dr Jean Kaseya of the Democratic Republic of Congo as Director General of the AfricaCDC for a mandate of 4 years. He will oversee the delivery of the core functions and key objectives of the organization, as per its statute.
