The Pan-African Women’s Organisation (PAWO) has concluded its 10th Congress, calling for enhanced efforts towards the economic empowerment of African women. Convened on the theme “accelerate African Women’s Action Towards Achieving Sustainable Economic Development within the Context of the UN Agenda 2030 and AU Agenda 2063”, the three-day meeting focused on the strategies for women and girls to be more actively and meaningfully involved in the implementation of Africa’s Agenda 2063 and the global Agenda 2030.

2017 PIDA Week ends with calls on Africa to fast-track delivery of infrastructure projects

Swakopmund, Namibia, December 13, 2017 – The 2017 PIDA Week ended in Swakopmund, Namibia, Wednesday with delegates calling on Member States to commit themselves to the development of Programme for Infrastructure Development in Africa (PIDA) projects on the ground and to renew their focus to infrastructure development in rural and remote areas, among other things.

Windhoek, Namibia – 5 October 2017. The Department of Trade and Industry of the African Union Commission is organizing a symposium of Chambers of Mines and Mining Associations in Africa under the theme «Leveraging the role of Chambers of Mines and Mining Associations in Africa ». The Objective of the symposium is to provide a platform for Public and Private Sector dialogue guided by the principles of the Africa Mining Vision (AMV). The Symposium also serves as a platform for the creation and launch of a Pan-Africa continental body to represent the business community.
