Juba, South Sudan, 22 July 2017: The African Union Commission (AUC) in accordance with the Communiqué of the 547th meeting of the African Union Peace and Security Council (PSC) of 29 September 2015, embarked on a consultative mission to Juba from 20 to 22 July 2017 to engage with the Transitional Government of National Unity on the implementation of Chapter V (3) of the Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in the Republic of South Sudan of August 2015 (“Peace Agreement”), which relates to the establishment of the Hybrid Court for South Sudan.

Addis Ababa, 8 July 2016: The Chairperson of the Commission of the African Union (AU), Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma has learned, with extremely great concern, of the very serious incidents that took place on 8 July 2016, during which the Sudan People’s Liberation Army (SPLA) and the Sudan People’s Liberation Army-In Opposition (SPLA-IO) forces engaged in very deadly exchange of gunfire in parts of Juba, including at the Office of the President while the President, the 1st Vice-President and the Vice-President were in a meeting.
