H.E President William Samoei Ruto (PhD), President of the Republic of Kenya and the African Union Champion on Institutional Reform. H.E. Ruto was appointed during the 37th Assembly of Heads of State and Government in February 2024 to champion the AU Institutional Reform process taking over from the H.E Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda who led the implementation of the reform process since 2016.

The three day African Anti-Corruption Dialogue 2020 has kicked off, setting the tone for indepth deliberations on the state of corruption on the continent, the role judicial systems have played in deterring graft and emerging threats particularly from the COVID-19 pandemic.
The main purpose of the meeting was to share existing knowledge and information on the COVID-19 outbreak, which has had devastating global impacts since its outbreak in December 2019, and agree on how to harmonize and coordinate the preparedness and response to Covid-19 in the SADC region.
The African Union Commission (AUC) has embarked on sensitization activities on the new African Multidimensional Regional Integration Index (AMRII), a monitoring and evaluation tool to assess the status of the integration in the continent.
Addis Ababa, 21 August 2019: The African Union Commission, through the Department of Political Affairs, is continuing the AU engagement with political parties in Africa as key agents of democratic and participatory governance. The AUC brought together more than twenty (20) representatives of various political parties in East Africa in a workshop held in Arusha, Tanzania to be held today and tomorrow.

The PATTEC Coordination Office in collaboration with East African Communities (EAC) organized a consultative meeting with representatives of five EAC member states at EAC premises, Arusha, Tanzania on 4 – 6 March 2019. The regional consultative meeting brought together four Tsetse and Trypanosomosis experts from member states and ICIPE-Kenya, staff of AU-PATTEC and EAC, Directors of Veterinary Services and PATTEC Coordinators from the region including Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, South Sudan and Uganda.
The African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights will deliver Judgment in the matter of Alfred Agbesi Woyome v. Republic of Ghana on Friday (28 June 2019) at its Seat in Arusha, Tanzania.
