Agenda 2063 is the blueprint and master plan for transforming Africa into the global powerhouse of the future. It is the strategic framework for delivering on Africa’s goal for inclusive and sustainable development and is a concrete manifestation of the pan-African drive for unity, self-determination, freedom, progress and collective prosperity pursued under Pan-Africanism and African Renaissance.

H.E President William Samoei Ruto (PhD), President of the Republic of Kenya and the African Union Champion on Institutional Reform. H.E. Ruto was appointed during the 37th Assembly of Heads of State and Government in February 2024 to champion the AU Institutional Reform process taking over from the H.E Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda who led the implementation of the reform process since 2016.

The African Union Commission’s Department for Economic Development, Tourism, Trade, Industry, and Minerals (ETTIM) will convene a three-day African Union Conference on Debt in Lomé, Togo, under the theme: “Africa’s Public Debt Management Agenda: Restoring and Safeguarding Debt Sustainability.”
The Government of the Republic of Togo hosted the twentieth session of the Africa Working Group on Disaster Risk Reduction (AWGDRR). The biannual meeting was held from 17 to 19 October 2023 in the capital, Lomé. The theme was "From Commitment to Action - Path to Accelerate the Programme of Action for the Implementation of the Sendai Framework in Africa".
The African Union Commission (Department of Political Affairs, Peace and Security) and the Centre for the Study of Violence and Reconciliation (CSVR) in collaboration with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Togo (HCRRUN) successfully organized the Sixth Edition of the Continental Transitional Justice Forum, held in person in Lomé, Togo from 7- 9 September 2022. The overall objective of the forum was to review the state of Transitional Justice (TJ) in Africa with the goal of strengthening TJ mechanisms and practices in the context of Social Capital.
Addis Ababa, 12 May 2022: The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat, has learned with great alarm of the terrorist attack that took place on 11 May, against a military post of the Togolese armed forces, in the locality of Kpékpakandi, in northern Togo, and which left 8 people dead and 13 injured.
