Review of International Financing Arrangements for DDR, Phase 1 Report to Working Group 2 of the Stockholm Initiative on Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration (SIDDR)

This paper constitutes the first part of a review, commissioned by the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, of the experience of international actors in financing disarmament, demobilization and reintegration (DDR) processes. It is intended to inform the financing-related discussions of Working Group 2 of the Swedish Initiative on Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration (SIDDR). It includes background information on the costs of DDR programs, sources of funding, and exploration of the types of funding mechanisms and instruments deployed. A detailed mapping of DDR programmes assessed by number of beneficaries and cost is provided at Annex 3.
