In line with the decision of the African Union Ministers of Communication and Information Communication Technologies (STCCICT) of 2017, which resolved to, among others, recognize the contributions of journalists towards the achievement of Agenda 2063, five African women journalists have been awarded grants to enable them to produce detailed stories in key sectors of Africa’s development under Agenda 2063. The grants valued at US$10,000 in total were supported by the African Union, the GIZ and the International Organisation for Migration, IOM.

Through the AU Commission’s Directorate of Information and Communication, the Union has enhanced its internal and external communications functions, to increase efficiency and connectivity with African citizenry and stakeholders, in making available up-to-date information on the implementation and impact of Agenda 2063 projects, programmes and activities.
