12th Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme Partnership Platform “Innovative Financing and Renewed Partnerships to accelerate CAADP Implementation”

What: The 12th Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development (CAADP) Partnership
Platform (PP) Meeting is an annual continental forum which brings together
stakeholders in African agriculture and food security. CAADP aims to address challenges in order to consolidate and accelerate progress towards agricultural transformation in Africa.

Date: April 12-14, 2016

Who: Organised by the African Union Commission and the NEPAD Agency, the
Partnership Platform will be the attended by:
• AUC Commissioner for Rural Economy and Agriculture, H.E Rhoda PeaceTumusiime
• Chief Executive Officer, NEPAD Agency, Dr Ibrahim Mayaki

Also in attendance will be High level African Leadership, Regional Economic Communities, government ministries, farmers’ organisations, the private sector, civil society and development partners.

Focus and theme:
The 12th CAADP PP meeting will focus on innovative finance and renewed partnership but also recognizes 2016 as the “Year of Human Rights with special focus on Rights for Women”. The meeting will seek to highlight how best to speed up implementation through financial innovation and partnerships to deliver the Malabo Declaration and the Africa Union (AU) “Agenda 2063”.
The 12th CAADP PP sub-themes are: Funding the African Agricultural Investment to attain Malabo commitments; Agricultural Finance Landscape and Policy Environment; Inclusive Access to Finance to empower women and Youth; Innovative Delivery of Financial Services; Value Chain Finance; Agriculture and Food Insecurity Risk Management, and; Renewing Partnership for Accelerated Development.

Venue: La Palm Royal Beach Hotel, Accra, Ghana
