What: High Level Meeting of the African Union Commission and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany.

When: Thursday, 3rd May 2018

Time: 0950 Hours.

Venue: Julius Nyerere Plenary Hall (Peace and Security Building).

Background: The African Union Commission is hosting a delegation from the Federal Government of Germany at the African Union Headquarters. The African Union Commission Deputy Chairperson H.E. Amb. Kwesi Quartey will receive the German delegation led by H.E. Mr. Heiko Maas, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Federal Republic of Germany. The Minister will also have a bilateral meeting with the Commissioner, Peace and Security, Amb. Smail Chergui.
The meetings will, among other key strategic issues, focus on the African Union – German cooperation, and matters of mutual interest including regional topics. Journalists are kindly invited to attend and cover the joint press conference on the outcomes of the bilateral meeting at 9:50am.
