WHAT:   The Africa CDC weekly press briefing on COVID-19 for this week will hold on its usual schedule. This week’s briefing will feature the roll out of the Partnership to Accelerate COVID-19 Testing, (PACT) initiative by H.E. Amira Elfadil Mohammed, Commissioner for Social Affairs of the African Union Commission. There will also be the regular epidemiological situation update from Member States and new actions taken by Africa CDC and other partners to support African Union Member States in responding to the outbreak.

Background Information
 
PACT is a continental strategy to help Member States limit COVID-19 transmission by ensuring uninterrupted supply of diagnostics and medical supplies, as well as frontline personnel, needed to support response at the country level.
