Background

The dialogue brings together the African Diaspora and people of African descent globally to create an informed and empowered voice to shape Africa’s development and, in the medium to long term, create platforms, instruments and vehicles for the African Diaspora’s proactive and strategic engagements in Africa’s development through productive investments, innovative financing, trade promotion, knowledge and capacity strengthening, research and innovations, technology sharing and brain circulation.

The African Development Bank is convening the G-CoP dialogue in collaboration with the African Union Commission (AUC), the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), the African Continental Free Trade Area Secretariat  (ACFCTA) and partner institutions. The solution dialogue focuses on five themes to be discussed in parallel sessions following the plenary

•        Securitisation of Remittances

•        Diaspora Bonds

•        Diaspora in Trade and Investment Promotion.

•        Research, Innovation, Knowledge, and Technology Sharing.
