Knowledge Sharing Workshop on the African Union Leadership Academy Sharing Progress and Harnessing International Experiences Venue: World Bank, Conference Room I3-440 (EYE Building, 1850 I-Street, NW, Washington DC)

The objective of the African Union Leadership Academy (AULA) is to support the capacity of the African Union Commission and Other African Union Organs, by promoting knowledge, learning and experience sharing in the continent. It strives to create transformational leaders who will lead and drive the change on the continent in order to meet the objectives and aspirations of African Union’s Agenda 2063.

The demand for institutional capacity building on the continent is significant, and it will require concerted and collaborated efforts to fill concomitant capacity gaps. The main audience of the AULA programs are senior officials of the AUC, AU Organs, and regional offices, officials from member states, and stakeholder institutions including civil society organs, public-private entities, African diaspora, media and development institutions.

In its pursuit to achieving its medium term goal, the AULA is seeking to build partnerships with knowledge and learning institutions, academia, foundations, think tanks and other entities. In this process of institution building and outreach, this knowledge sharing workshop has been organized to share the AULA’s plans, to harness collaboration, share lessons of experience and receive stakeholder feedback.
