Agenda 2063 is the blueprint and master plan for transforming Africa into the global powerhouse of the future. It is the strategic framework for delivering on Africa’s goal for inclusive and sustainable development and is a concrete manifestation of the pan-African drive for unity, self-determination, freedom, progress and collective prosperity pursued under Pan-Africanism and African Renaissance.
H.E President William Samoei Ruto (PhD), President of the Republic of Kenya and the African Union Champion on Institutional Reform. H.E. Ruto was appointed during the 37th Assembly of Heads of State and Government in February 2024 to champion the AU Institutional Reform process taking over from the H.E Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda who led the implementation of the reform process since 2016.

ONLINE REGISTRATION FOR JOURNALISTS NOW OPEN
The Information and Communication Directorate (ICD) of the African Union Commission (AUC) hereby announces that the online registration for journalists interested to cover the 44th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council and the 37th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the AU Heads of State scheduled to take place from 14-18 February 2024, has been launched on the AU website. These two sessions will be preceded by that of the Permanent Representatives Committee.

NB: Deadline for media registration: 31st January 2024
Journalists are advised to keep checking this page, as it will be regularly updated with information and documentation necessary for their participation at the summit.
The meetings are scheduled to take place as follows:
15 - 26 January 2024: 47th Ordinary Session of the PRC (Ambassadors)
14 - 15 February 2024: 44th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council (Ministerial Session)
17-18 February 2024: 37th Ordinary Session of the AU Assembly (Heads of State and Government Session)
Accredited Journalists will be able to cover all the open sessions physically at the African Union Headquarters, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Please note that any changes to the format of the meetings will be communicated on the above link, as soon as they are known.
