Addis Ababa – 12 January 2016: The new Ambassador of the Republic of Rwanda to Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union, H.E. Mrs. Hope Tumukunde Gasatura, presented on Monday 11 January 2016, her letter of credence to H.E. Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, the African Union Commission Chairperson.
The new Ambassador took the opportunity to commend the AUC Chairperson for her leadership and expressed her country’s commitment to accelerate the preparations for the forthcoming June-July Summit of the African Union scheduled to take place in Kigali.
The African Union Commission Chairperson congratulated H.E. Mrs. Hope Tumukunde Gasatura, for her appointment and wished her a successful tour of duty.
The Chairperson indicated to H.E. Mrs. Hope Tumukunde Gasatura, that she counted on her contribution to the work of the African Union. She also expressed the wish that Ambassador Tumukunde Gasatura will learn a great deal from his collaboration with the African Union, especially as she assumes duty at the beginning of the preparations for the 26th African Union Summit scheduled at the end of this month.
Finally, the Chairperson paid tribute to the Leader and the government of the Republic of Rwanda for their continued support to the African Union Commission.
