Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – 1 September 2016: The Chairperson of the African Union (AU) Commission, Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, learned with profound sadness the death of Ambassador Amidou Toure, Burkina Faso’s Ambassador to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union. The sudden death of Amb. Amidou Toure occurred on Thursday 1 September 2016, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
On behalf of the African Union, the Chairperson of the Commission expresses her sincere condolences to the family of the Late Amb. Amidou Toure. She also addresses same to the Government and people of Burkina Faso.
The Late Amb. Amidou Toure presented his Credentials to the AU Commission Chairperson, Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma on 9 November 2015. Before his accreditation as Permanent Representative, he had been serving in Burkina Faso’s mission to Ethiopia, the African Union and the UN Economic Commission for Africa.
