Who: African Union Election Observation Mission (AUEOM) to Liberia
Objective: The deployment of an AUEOM to Liberia reflects AU Commission’s desire and aspiration for an Africa of good governance, democracy, and respect for human rights, justice and the rule of law in all of AU member states.

Background:
Following an invitation from the Government and National Electoral Commission of Liberia, the African Union Commission (AUC) Chairperson, H.E. Moussa Faki Mahamat, approved the deployment of an African Union Election Observation Mission (AUEOM) to Liberia to observe the 10 October 2017 presidential and legislative elections. The Mission is comprised of long-term and short-term observers.

Media representatives in Liberia are invited to take part and cover the activities of the AUEOM.
