Addis Ababa, 28 October 2017:  The Government of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire submitted to the African Union a Note Verbale, in accordance with the relevant Union decisions on the participation of States in the African Union-European Union Summit. This decision reaffirmed by the meeting of the Executive Council, held in Addis Ababa on 16 October 2017.

This Note reiterates the commitment of Côte d'Ivoire to ensure the appropriate conditions and take the necessary measures for the participation of all the Member States of the African Union in the Summit, scheduled for 29 and 30 November 2017 in Abidjan.

At the request of Côte d'Ivoire, the said Note was communicated to the Member States of the African Union.

The African Union Commission will continue to work closely with Côte d'Ivoire, as host country and with the European Union, to ensure that the Abidjan Summit is a success and a decisive step in strengthening the partnership between Africa and Europe.
